Default ok,,getting closer to a swap

well,,i didnt buy that 93 civic with the LS swap,,so now im deciding between a Type R swap,,
and a GSR swap

i said before i wouldnt think about going FI, after i do the swap,,but there is a chance that i will want it to b faster

so are there turbo hybrids on here??
what setup,,and what qtr mile??
would it b better for a LS swap and then turbo??,,
i would have all the money for that right off the bat prob

but for the GSR,,and Type R swap,,i would have to save a lil longer to get the turbo,,or supercharger

what turbos are good out there,,
greddy ??drag gen 3????,,also,,im not planning to up the boost at all
just want a reliable weekend driver

what are some of the best superchargers,,and turbos out on the market,,for each engine,

i know the R is a all motor, engine,,but its allready gonna b about half a sec faster then a GSR swap,,that speed will tide me over till i go FI,,that is if i do

also,,would a GSR swap,,,with R cams,,and a skunk2 TB,,,b close to a R swap,,in the qtr ???
would u have to port and polish the intake manifold??

also,,between the JR SC,,and the vortec SC,,for the GSR,,which one has better gains???any pros,,or cons about eaither??

as of right now,,im just thinking a R swap in my 94 hatch DX,,with a AEM CAI,,and my greddy PE exhaust..will b 14's

and the GSR with my greddy PE,AEM CAI,,and maybe a header,,will b mid 14's..or around there

also,,your opinion on this too
lets say i go for the R swap,,what header,,would u recommend??JDM 4-1??
does DC make a 4-1 for the R ??
i know DC's quality isnt the best,,but if it is alot cheaper then a JDM,,then ill go for it
or should i stay with a 4-2-1,,for all around gains??
same ? with the GSR swap,,
what header,,4-1??or is there a better one??

im gonna b keeping the Greddy PE exhaust i have,,,but should i get a high flo cat???
and i know i will get a AEM CAI

thanks for your help
mike
o i think the % of i will go FI is prob around 40% right now,,,,so u can tell im up in the air about what swap to get

well with a DX hatch and a GS-R swap with i/h/e you should be in the low 14's, regardless, i say go for the LS/Turbo........

if not go for the R swap, and go n/a..DC does have the JDM DC 4-1 for the c5, and if you can find the linke to the 'great header test' was the biggest bang for its price header...as for either 4-2-1 or 4-1, go 4-1 top end is your friend.

up to you, money is always an issue though

so a GSR with I/H/E is low 14's..so does that mean,,a R swap with I/H/E,,could b a high 13 sec car??

also,,what mods would u do to a R ,,after u get the I/H/E????
do u all think my greddy PE exhaust should b good enough???

i almost have enough money to do a R swap in my car right now,,
so i figure i would set that as my goal,,and if i decide to go with a GSR swap,,then ill have some $ left over

im just trying to see what things i can plan for to make it make me happy

i know with the swap,,ill wail on most the hondas around here,,but i would love to suprise some stangs,,and LS1's
any more thoughts
mike

well a dx hatch is a tad lighter than my si hatch (nearly 300lbs) and with just i/e i have beaten high and some mid 14 sec cars....on the street of course, no track times as of yet.

with some drag radials, or stickier tires (proper traction) of course the limited slip will help, yes 13's are more than possible in an EG/ITR hybrid with i/h/e

now if your goal is too suprise thos v8's (gt's,ss's,z28's,ws6's) and what not, i DEF say go for an b18c1, and save the rest for a JRSC....some minor fuel and ignition upgrades and your set for some more boost (than the 6psi)

good luck!

yeah it would b really nice to beat some of those cars,,
but i wouldnt get mad,,if i lost,,even if i was close,i would b happy,
i dont think there are many v8's hitting 12's around her
maybe very low 13's
most T/As i see(LS1's) are like 13.2's and around there
thats pretty much stock
i think LT1's are high 13's stock

but i would prob just stick to imports,,and once and a while mess with the V8's if they want some, hehe

do many people put nitrous on type R's???
maybe a 50 shot???
i figure a R swap would b hard to get a lil traction from a stop,,so i can even imagine a turbos R in my hatch

o well,,most my races are at 40 MPH or above
thanks for your thoughts
mike

dont worry about traction
honda engines are notoriously low torque motors.
your gonna have GOOD grip even on street tires
if i were you i would get the gsr and spend 2g on building it up before it goes in
good cams, high compression pistons, clutch/flywheel your beating down type r's
