Default Oil Sending Unit Problems, The Unit Broke Of Partially Threaded In The Block How Can I Fix This

As I stated in the title the sending unit broke partial threaded in the block, how could it have broken, the shop I had it installed in used silicone to thread it in an a brass oils ending unit I called thema n they said they have never had that happen before, what can I do about this, an how can I fix it
