Oil Blow-By in B18C/B16A
Hey,
I have a B18C block, with a B16A Head. It is fully built with OEM internals, and has around 12.5:1 compression. My oil consumption is about 1 quart every 500 miles, which makes for an unhealthy motor, and a very dirty rear bumper. I talked to my tuner and he said that i need to modify the PCV system, and add in an oil catch can. Anyone else have experience with this problem after a swap? Just want some opinions and suggestions before i try this method to fix this problem.
Thanks in advance

Re: Oil Blow-By in B18C/B16A (BDBGoalie1982)
If the bottom end was built by the same tuner that gave you this advice then he may be telling you these things because he hopes it isn't the oil control rings which it may be if you let your car idle a lot during the break in, that may have cause the rings to not sit correctly..PCV valve is only few bucks and easy to put in, try that first..were the valve guides replaced? 500 miles a quart, dam it sucks, but believe me it could be worse... I hope it's not the bottom end because going back in there would suck...good luck getting the car to 100%...
THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING IF YOUR MOTOR WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT! THEY BETTER FIX THAT **** OR GIVE A REFUND, SOMETHING..OR ELSE THREATEN SMALL CLAIMS.
