OBD2B -> OBD2A conversion, would it still pass emissions?
If an obd2b car went to a obd2a setup what ramifications would it have when going for emissions testing? I know they hook up their scanner into the obd diagnostics port...but would there be an issue since they would be looking for the obd2b standard?

It'll be fine provided you have all the emission equipment hooked up for that the ECU is looking for.
What car/motor/ECU combo are you using? I can help more with further detail.

Its kind of a funky setup...
Its a 95 H22A (OBD1), 2000 CX Hatch (OBD2B), 2000 civic EX harness (OBD2B), and AEM EMS (OBD2A).
The goal is to have the car be able to pass emissions (the OBD2 scan test) and then be able to just go back to the AEM (will have to change some things of course).
Now I know most ppl don't ever convert to OBD2, but from what I have gathered so far such a conversion is possible.
My plan of attack was to purchase a scan tool and an OBD2 ECU and see what codes I pull (and subsequently try to eliminate them one by one). However, I don't want to invest in an OBD2A setup just to find out that no matter what it won't pass because the scanner wants OBD2B.
As far as I know I cannot purchase an OBD2B ECU because of the immobilizer (speaking of GSR ECU's)...is this true?
Thanks.

Don't try to use any ECU that is equipped with an immobilizer. This cuts out all 97+ Prelude ECUs and 00-01 GSR ECUs.
You'd probably have the best luck with a 99-00 Si or EX ECU if you want to use OBD2B. 96-97 del Sol VTEC or Si or 96-98 EX ECU for OBD2A.
Since you are using an OBD1 H22, you will have to add the crankshaft fluctuation sensor and 2nd O2 sensor that the OBD2 ECUs are looking for.

The EX ECU's would be programmed for SOHC tho correct? Would the car still run well enough not to throw a bunch of trouble codes?
I am aware of the the extra sensors...hopefully I will be able to get around it.
You don't think a GSR ECU would be a good idea?

SOHC ECUs will run DOHC engines fine. Don't go racing around on it though.
You could try a GSR ECU, did you want to use an OBD2A or OBD2B ECU?

Crap I apparently deleted my other reply.
Anyways I am thinking OBD2B would be better since the car is 2000. I originally was thinking I would have to go to OBD2A GSR ECU (due to the immobilizer) but I never even though about the Civic SI (great idea!).
Now I just need to figure out what to do about the CKF. I know the OBD2 H22's have a CKP in the oil pump but I don't think they ever had a CKF...not sure what to do to accomodate that.

Not sure on the H-series. The B-series use a different oil pump and lower timing belt cover with the crank fluctuation sensor equipped (96-01) engines.
