OBD2 F23 into my 92 accord
I just recently picked up a 92 accord ex as a daily driver. It is an automatic and the stock F22 motor is shot.
There is a local junkyard that has a 2000 F23 with 41,000 miles for a reasonable price.
I assume the F23 is OBD2 and the car is OBD1. You can run an OBD2 motor in an OBD1 car if you splice on the OBD2 injector plugs and distributor plugs.
(1) Would this be the route to take or should I swap over the injectors and distributor from the blown stock motor?
(2) Would the stock ecu run the motor decently?
(3) Will the F23 bolt up to the stock auto tranny?
Thanks for the help. Sorry for being an Accord newbie

Re: OBD2 F23 into my 92 accord (red civic standard)
hey
I am a noob here but my 92 accord lx with the 2001 f23 I swapped myself over a year ago is right outside ....I thought Iwas the only one to actually do something like this as a nice driver and very cost effective for the horsepower and miles. As I said it was a year ago but I can give most details from memory, I will say however that it is not perfect and I am sure there are other ways ...... mods.....use 92 PS bracket and cut to clear exhaust and space out for Alt clearance.use 92 crank pulley ....mod timing cover and swap f22 mount to belt end...use f22 dizzy and injectors. the idle air bypass from 92 needs to go on a custom rectangle to round plate to do idle air (used 1/4"aluminumplate as adaptor)
relocate fuel line , change connectors for some sensors , used 2001 tps and temp and oil..I think.... Egr still giving me problems I think solution would be to use 94-95 egr.... map is from 92 jerry rigged on top of TB. intake and exhaust are from 2001 ... used a 95 accord 2.2 v-tec ecm and added a couple of pins for the v-tec
all in all my swap cost around $600 with 28K mi. engine ecu and all extra stuff
only tine it doesent quite run like a honda is when it is very cold out the 92 intake man. has a water temp controlled air by-pass for warm up that would be very hard to swap over , hope this helps and if you need to know more let me know....
Glad to know I am not crazy......
By the way she will lay black marks from my 205-40-16'S all the way down the block !!!!!
Go get them h22'S

Re: OBD2 F23 into my 92 accord (92accord2.3)
It sounds as if the power steering can be retained. What about the A/C?
Which IM did you use? Does the f22 IM bolt up to the f23 head?

Re: OBD2 F23 into my 92 accord (red civic standard)
more info.
i have 93 accord auto.
I'm looking to get a new moto & keep it auto with a newer F23 tranny.
What mounts do I use?
what about axles & hub.... any issues with that?
header.... is that a clearance issue with the 93 accord cross member?
