obd1 motor in obd2 car
95 jdm single cam vtec
into 98 civic that had a y8 in it
I want to make the obd1 motor into obd2 so it will run like stock obd2.
what should i do.
NO im not buying any conversion harness, i have to use what ive got .
Most importantly i need info on the crank fluctuation sensor.
so please tell me how can i get around that problem,.
Is the only solution to switch the oil pump and the toothed gear?
does someon have a how to>?
i need this asap casue the mechanic is already pullin the old motor out
so i need to swap over the ob2

Re: obd1 motor in obd2 car (djsire)
Buy a JDM OBDII ECU they don't look for CKF's At least my 2000MY P73 doesn't and it should plug and play
I could be wrong, but I think it will work

Re: obd1 motor in obd2 car (djsire)
i've converted older b18's to work in newer cars switching the oil pump, housing and gear and what not, you need to see if the bolt patterns are the same on the 2 singles and if so then i don't see why not, you should be able to switch them with a little work,
the other option is that there is a trick to fool the crank sensor but you'll need to ask katman, but i'm assuming it would work on a single cam as well as duel, go to ffsquad.com or pm katman about it, he seems like a cool dude and might help you out!
