Default OBD1 Distributor on type r engine

Background: 2000 Civic Si with JDM Type R swap

Any downsides to this? I found the jumper harness to do it: http://rywire.com/store/obd2-10pin-o...99338625aea27b

Any better place to get a harness? Basically, I need a new distributor and can get a new OBD1 vtec distributor, just need to know if it's going to work for me.

It's a Honda Distributor, so no worries there.
