OBD II to I swap... Experience with smog check anyone?????????????
I have a OBD II to I swap. I live in Wisconsin, and got the infamous smog check letter in the mail.. So does anyone have experience with Wisconsin or similar smog check procedures?
It says that they just plug in a computer diagnostic kinda thingy and then you are done... I just wanna know, Do i have to tell them I have a different motor in there now.. or will they just figure it out when they plug it in?
I just wanna know what are the steps that i have to take.
Or should i just go there and see what happens..

Re: OBD II to I swap... Experience with smog check anyone????????????? (sivik2nr)
Same thing happened on my friends EK... I dropped a GSR in it about a year ago and he just had to DEQ it recently... We don't have SMOG stuff here in Oregon but when they ran the scan it pulled up everything i didn't wire in.. ie the EVAP purge solenoid and the secondary oxygen sensor. The CEL was burn't out and they even know that... I'm pretty sure they can't check your emissions they just make sure everything is connected. Now I'm not 100% positive on this so don't take my word for it. If everything is wired in I would just go for it.... Also my friend didn't pass when we went in so we're both down at school now and you don't have to DEQ your car down here.... hahaha free tags... Good Luck
