OBD 1 or 2 GSR motor for my 93 Civic Cx? ....or does it not matter?
Tommorrow is the BIG day for me. I'm going to be placing my order at IAS (Import Auto Salvage) for my GSR motor. A little earlier than expected, but I think the Cx motor is on it's last life line
Does it matter what year the GSR motor is? What if it's an OBD3? Should I ask for an OBD1 or OBD2 motor? ...or get the newest / lowest mileage motor?
Will they give me a list of motors / mileage on hand? ...or do I just tell them what car I have, the motor I want, and pay? I've never done this before so I am clueless.
Thanks for any advice on this!

It doesnt matter if you get an obd1 or obd2 swap. bolts in the same , plugs in the same. One advantage of an obd1 swap would be that u get an obd1 ecu. if you get an obd2 swap you have to find an obd1 ecu. But the obd2 swap more than likely will have fewer miles. Dont let anyone try to tell you that u have to use obd1 dist.,injectors, etc.- its all the same. hope this helps.

since your car is obd1 i would go with a 94-95 gsr motor this swap is plug and play. if yu use a 96-00 gsr motor you will have 2 rewire engine harness.

listen to jmm96gsr, get an obdII motor, but find an obdI ecu, and just run your vtecs, evaps, and knock wires...the newer motor will most likely have ledd miles/sitting time ( most likely). SO good luck withwhat ever you choose.

you really shouldnt post on something u know nothing about. You DO NOT have to rewire an obd2 b18c1 when u put it into an obd1 car. All u have to do is get an obd1 ecu. (P72, P30, or chipped P28).

Well, I purchased the motor. It's a 96 USDM GSR with 60,XXX on it. Cost me $3,800 shipped from IAS. Anyhow, I've got to find an ODB1 ECU now and pick the Del Sol dual core radiator up
