Default no vss would that cause limp mode?

I dont have my vss hooked up because i dont have one would that cause car to run in limp mode?

no vss can make the car not have vtec.

so you are saying ignition timing is fine. how is fuel pressure and also how are the ignition parts?

fuel pressure from vafc says 42 cam timing is correct and dizzy timing is correct too. its also a brand new distributor

if the vss is not hooked up you should have a cel for that. this one is a bit harder to diagnose since the car is not in my face. what can you tell me about the setup and what you have done.

no vss will cause u to go in limp mode.

u need to replace it or hook it up or whatever.. just get it working.. with out it ur speedometer will not work (obviously), vtec will not work, and and u will have an ealier rpm cut off..

for me it was a like 6800 rpm.. or around there somewhere.

i just fixed this problem on my car.

i made a 250 mile drive with no vss it sucked being stuck at less than 3k rpm the whole trip.
you NEED a vss.

soem guys here need to check their terminoligy...

VSS does NOT cause 'limp' mode.

it casues 'safe' mode.

rev limit will be 7500 and no VTEC and richer fuel.

if you are not throwing codes and cant rev past 2.5k - id say your ECU could be the problem

added vsss now i can get the car up to 10 mph almost but it ******* falls on face and dies. I also added knock sensor and reset computer. Im not getting any more codes but its in limp mode still. I cant go above 2.5k rpm. Help

its a 89 crx hf with a 94 b18c1. The car was converted to obd 1 with a blown90hatch harness.

car is in limp mode and i dont know what to do now. All im getting is a code one. Oxygen sensor. Confused what to do now im getting a new oxygen sensor but i know that isnt the problem.
