ok......kinda confused here
aight i get that a ls/vtec hybred normally has a b18 bottom end and a b16 head for the vtec right.
but i heard about a b18 bottom end w/ a gsr head? i wuz under the impression that a gsr didn't even hav vtec. so then wouldn't it just be a modded up b18 series engine?
plus i've been hearing some people call the b18/b16 hybred the frankenstein conversion and others call it that when theres a CRV block in it.
any info would b appreciated thnxx.

the "frankenstein" motor, or ls/vtec motor that you are referring to involves a DOHC VTEC head, use either B16A/B or B18C1(GSR)/C5(R), and a non VTEC block, typically the B18A/B(LS) or B20B/Z(CRV). The B18C1 (GSR) motor is a 1.8 DOHC VTEC motor.

You can use the gs-r or b16a head to do a ls/vtec the b16 head flows better then the b18c so thats why more people use it.
Frankenstien = hybrid motor.
