New to Swaps, need help, a couple questions??
Hows it going guys, I have a 99 hatch, and I have access to a complete wrecked 98 Integra GSR. I want to swap the motor into my hatch, does the motor/tranny/and ECU from the integra plug right into the my 99 civic hatch??
I know I need motor mounts and all the other hardware, i am just more concerned about trany, motor, and ECU?? And will the integra gauge cluster work?? Or should i use one from a Civic SI or another one??
I have never done a swap before so i justw ant to know what is needed for the specific swap i am doing?? Also if there is a write up somewhere that would be great?? And is the tranny on a 98 GSR cable or hydrolic??

both motors are obd2 so thats good.. you will need ur stock civc engine harness.. also you will need to take motor mounts and shiftlinkage.. basically take everything that come with the motor and tranny.. not a hard swap at all.. good luck and the gsr cluster will work with some mods.. there is thread on it somewhere.

thanx you were a big help.
and when you mean the mounts and shift linkage, do you mean the ones out of the integra, or do i go with an after market brand like haspro or something like that??

A '98 GSR is obd2A while your '99 civic is obd2B, so the ecu will not plug right in.
You will need a obd2a-obd2b jumper harness inorder to use that ecu.
You will need the axles and shift linkage from the integra.
You will reuse your stock civic upper tranny mount, but you will need to get a rear tranny bracket and timing belt mount bracket(the part that bolts to the block) from a '99-'00 SI.
Then you will reuse your stock '99 harness, put it on the gsr motor. Then wire up the IABs.
