Default New member engine swap question

I am new to this site, i didnt see any posts for my question, but i apologize if this is a asked and answered question.

I was looking into a honda civic for a project car. It would be a fun to drive daily driver and maybe the occasional (rare) track day.

The civic seems to have the best aftermarket support of the cars i was considering.

My question is... If I purchase a late model (gen4,gen 5 or 6) Civic or crx, I would be doing so with the intent of putting a newer motor, transmission and springs in. What other modifications would be recommendend? and how reliable would a engine transplant be? I wouldnt be after much more then 225 to 250 hp at the wheels, I am more concerned with handling and agility.

Thanks for your help

I suggest going to the FAQ in each of the corresponding forums you've asked about 4th Gen EF Forum, 5/6 gen EG/EK forum. Also search around in the FAQ's in the hybrid forum as there's a ton of info to get you started. Later if you have specific questions ask back in here.
