I have a GSR tranny mated to a B16A. The gearing is too long, and not ideal for an allmotor B16 setup. The gsr head on the B16 bottom end should be pretty nice though. Maybe add a little more tq to it due to the manifold style.

why not trade and get a cheap b18 block and build an lsvtec with his stuff? If you just wanna run the straight b16 w/gsr head and stuff I wouldn't do it.

He has a 99 b16a2 with 98 gsr head and IM . He also has a 98 gsr tranny. My current setup is 97 b18b. I would need to pay my mechanic 500 to assemble the long block and tranny and put in a new clutch(his is fucked). Would this be a worthy upgrade?

My car is a 98 coupe. I planned on slightly building the b18b, but his setup sounds kinda nice. what are you guys opinion on this?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Seems like a better deal on your end, if you don't wanna go the LS/vtec route. A GSR tranny/gearing is better than an LS tranny/gearing too, but a B16A trans/gearing is best overall. If you trade the guy, see if you can sell or trade the GSR tranny for a B16A tranny. The gearing on a B16 tranny goes hand in hand with the B16's powerband.

You might wanna look into a Skunk2 manifold for that P72 head as well.
