Need Wiring Help, Please! JDM B-Series into '97 EK...
Hey guys, here is my question. What exactly do I need to cut and splice in order to wire everything up (vtec, sensors etc.)? 1997 JDM wiring harness into a 1997 EK, with JDM ECU. Thanks guys!!

Cool, thanks man! I saw a diagram that Katman had made (Thanks Katman!) and I'm just wondering if there are any wires that I will need to add to the sotkc harness that I have? Or do I just need to cut into a few, extend a few etc. Thanks again guys!!
Edit: And also I believe JDM motors don't have a sencodary O2??

if i were you, i would find a 96-98 ex coupe harness, (already wired for vtec) you will need to extend some wires but nothing major. and yes, if you use the jdm ecu, it doesn't look for the secondary o2 or the crank sensor..

i swap a JDM B18C into my 97Ek
and it was fairly simple , just had to add the vtec pressure switch wire
and the 2butterfly
if you dont have a EX wiring you will need some more wires to attach
also remeber the conversion harness

Ok so since im using my stock harness, will I need to add in the wires for VTEC, IACV, and IAB? Just run a separate wire for each pin on the ECU right to the sensor it is needed for?

If you get a 96-98 EX harness, it will make the wiring a little less complicated. If not, just reuse your stock harness and add the necessary wiring which can be salvaged from the JDM harness that comes with the motor.
If you use the stock harness, you'll need to wire up:
1.) VTEC Solenoid
2.) VTEC Pressure Switch (96+ JDM motors don't have this)
3.) Knock Sensor
4.) IAT (change to regular 2 prong plug)
5.) IACV (change to regular 2 prong plug)
6.) IAB (only if the motor is GSR spec)
If the motor is 96+ and you use the JDM ECU, you will not have to worry about the lack of a VTEC Pressure Switch. If you happen to use a USDM ECU, then you will need to get a USDM VTEC solenoid/pressure switch or wire around it which is very easy.

Re: Need Wiring Help, Please! JDM B-Series into '97 EK... (VTECVillain)
Excellent!! Thanks a lot dude! So to add the wires I could just use a wire out of the JDM harness that comes with it, and just crimp or solder a tip on the end to stick into the harness is its correct place? Doesn't sound too hard...
Also, if I had a 96-98 EX harness, all I would need to do is extend a couple wires, and with the use of a OBD2-OBD1 Conversion harness it would be pretty much plug and play?

You only need an OBD2 to OBD1 ECU adapter harness if you are using an OBD1 ECU.
