Default need help with vtec wires. where do they go? (obd1)

ok a guy i know has a CEL and he doesnt have vtec. so im thinking its something in the wiring. he just put a jdm d15 vtec in his car. but what i need to know is if there are any wiring diagrams for wiring in vtec pressure and vtec solenoid etc. i know theres different letters for different plugs... but i just need to know which plugs are which and in what pin do the wires connect to.

thanks a bunch

There should be three wires.

I would run the wires from the sensor themselves to the following pinouts to the ECU:

VTEC Oil pressure - BLU/BLK to ORG/BLU to D6 pinout
VTEC Oil pressure ground - to thermostat housing ground (or splice into BLK wire)

VTEC Spool solenoid - GRN/WHT to GRN/YEL to ORG/WHT at the A4 pinout.

That is the wire color configuration for factory, but does not need to be the same color when wired up, mainly just the associated pinouts going to their according sensors.

ok, so its a 95 CX.
a few questions...

1) Are you reusing the 95 CX engine harness?

2) Have you guys wired any of the VTEC components up at all ?

This diagram I recently made totally pertains to your situation:

good info Katman. i believe i can help you with the pinout location for the knock sensor on the cabin harness (plug A):

blue/red wire is the knock and the yellow/red wire is the wire i pinned in for a factory look:

civic's CX subharness with new wire pinned in:

integra's engine harness, showing the knock sensor:
