Need Help, Tranny/Axle problems since the swap
I've been having problems with my tranny and axles since i completed my swap in spring of 02. The first problem I had was the driver side axle kept clicking when i made hard turns. So after I figured out that the cv boot had split and I replaced the whole axle with a new one i bought from Advance Auto Parts. But, this didn't fix the clicking noise. The boot is fine, and for some reason the axle won't stay locked in the intermediate shaft. I even pulled it out and replaced the o-ring that holds it in with a new one that i bought at Acura. So, the noise keeps getting worse. Now i belive that I need to replace my clutch since it is acting funny, and also making clicking noises. The clicking ( harsh metal on metal sounding) from the axles seems to be getting worse, i.e. it doesn't go away after i drive for a bit and seems to come from both sides now.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem? I have a Second Gen B16A, Hydro clutch with factory LSD. Could the limited slip be the problem? Do these go bad over time?
If I pull the tranny off to replace the clutch, I might get the tranny rebuilt while i'm at it ( 2nd and 3rd grind sometimes and it's hard to get in 1st and reverse). I would hate to do all this and put it back together just to find out that the problem lies in the limited slip and/or crappy axles.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

just a thought, i think they gave me an axle for a car with ABS when I asked for one without. Would this make a difference in how it fits?
What about a possible problem with the limited slip?

Re: (white95eg)
the only difference with the ABS ones is that it has a ring on the end boot, wont make a difference. I have a Kaaz LSD and it has been chattering really bad in turns recently, dunno why

The only difference between the ABS and non ABS is the ring around the cv boot

Re: (T.J.)
ok, so I still haven't solved this problem.
When I try to install the axle and slide it into the intermediate shaft, it doesn't 'click' in. The axle just slides out. Could this be an axle preblem, or a problem with the intermediate shaft?
