Hi

Rover is a UK based car company. In the early 90's they teamed up with Honda to help Honda produce European market cars. In return Rover used the 1.6 D series engines. No VTEC though

They also sell cars under the MG names, i dunno if you have the ZR, ZS and ZT cars there. Used tyo own Land Rover name until BMW bought it.

The car was fitted with a D16Z6 SOHC engine, then a D16A9 DOHC, got to 154bhp but soon desired VTEC, so i bought a smashed up Honda CRX VT (B16 DOHC equipped)

The swap is very similar to the CRX swaps i guess, although i did make my own mounts rather than buying HASport etc, in case they didnt fit. Rover also has a nice big radiator... ideal for when you turbo it

Im currently building up the parts for my turbo build, only got a T25 at the mo, which will be running Hondata.

Cheers
Jonny

Thats tight dude so its basically a drop in motor swap just like a civic. You should think about an h22 swap hehe or an R motor.

Rover got smart, as well as Lotus. They teamed together and made some impressive rides...

That's really nice - as a former Knowle, Solihull area resident, I can attest to the coolness of some UK cars! Yours looks particularly nice. However -
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JonnyCoupe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">B16a1 DOHC Honda VTEC - approx 180bhp@7600rpm, 130lbft @7000rpm</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thats optimistic as all hell!! Typical B16 isn't close to 130 lbft, even at the crank - normally put out a shade over 100 lbft at the wheels.

Must suck there right now at ~100degF and no a/c though

Steve

Do you think my wheel power is 180?

Rolling Road read 174bhp and 127.6 lbft before i fitted my JDM CTR manifold, just estimates as you say. No cat and fat 2.5" midsection helps too.

Rmeber we have 95 RON std fuel here, with either Super Unleaded at 98, or Optimax at 98.4RON.

Yeah its hot here, very Humid too which makes it worse to bear than the Medderanean climate.

I live in Tamworth Staffs, Knowle is a posh place, went through there when i went to my Prodrive Scooby day at there test track... 320bhp Scooby WRX. Nice

Cheers for the comments, i guess 'sick' its a good thing..... Yo?

Our Horsepower reading seem a bit lower than stateside and our figures are in flywheel typically where you guy liek to use wheel which is a much better idea TBH, a friends CRX VT with a T28 turbo at 9 psi made 248bhp with 209bhp@wheels.

Just to bring this thread back up. The car got boosted with the help of a HKS manifold and a Pulsar Gti-R for a whole 10days until a blow out on the motorway.

And heres it in a Magazine called Redline winning crash of the month and netting me £400 of wheel vouchers.

Pretty sick y0.

I'm surprised you're even alive after looking at those pics!

Its a shame too. It was a sexy car with a sexy engine set-up to boot.

Get healed and get started on a new car.
