Default For my cx 5th gen....LS Turbo or Build my H23 for boost....

This is my dilemma. I have a 94 hatch with no motor. LS swaps in my area are goiing for $1800-$2000. I have an H23 just sitting in the garage but needs to be rebuilt(smoked a lot). I was going to sell the H23 to put funds towards my LS but I got nothing but lowballers. So here's my question. Build my H23 up for boost and put it in the hatch or just get an LS swap? I'm not realy concerned with the dollar amount. Either way it's gonna take me a while to get the extra cash.

Do the turbo LS swap. First reason, you're way short of a full H23 swap.... you still need a tranny, ECU, axles, linkage, mounts, etc, where as if you bought a complete LS swap, you have everything right there to do the swap right away, rather than running around looking for this or that part for your swap. Second reason, if you don't have the funds to do a "full build" now, then the LS motor will take boost better than the H23 motor, mainly due to the close-deck block of the H23 motor and the internal set up and geometry of it. A H22/23 likes and can take a lot of NOS, but not boost too well. A B-series can take boost better and you get better results (and can boost a little bit more, safely.... depending on the setup and the tuning). It's a toss up of what to do, but it's going to be a lot easier to get a complete swap package from the get-go so there's nothing left out and you're not stuck in the middle of the swap looking for misc parts.

I say go for the h23. Its different and its got the displacement. On 6psi there is someone pushing around 250hp and 220tq on a stock h23 with a custom turbo kit. I am partial to this thought because it is probably the way i'm gonna go. Goodluck.
