Default My bloody install pics. jdmB18C1 into 92 cx

after 5 papa john's pizza, countless trips to in n out & pep boys, 4 hour trip to jdmhondparts to pick up a missing bracket, bloody thirsty arguments with **** Home Owners Associations, grease covered vegan chocolate chip cookies... we finaly got the little booger in. 2 friggen weeks later. only due to conflicting work schedules. in actuality it took 2 days..
but the best part is, it still won't start! oh wait that stinks.... no spark. hoping it'll get fixed tomorrow...

contender #1: jdm b18c1, versus.....

1992 cx (thank jebus for canadian made cars)

take that home owners association. more like homo owner's association....
oh that was original.

how long does it take slide squad dave, a japanese guy, a black guy, and a white guy to drop in a geezer motor? damn me and my bad jokes.

i don't remember

it's always a good sign to see a damp spark plug, after you drop in the engine. take note at there horrible condition... & the rusty water.

jdmb18c1 + 92 eg =

fun times.... but damns yous, just run!

Don't worry about the rusty water. They like to clean the motors with a pressure washer and then let the motor sit. So you get rust in the plug hole. Also check and make sure you don't have tons of stale gas in the cly. and check for water under the distributor cap!

what were the home owner's association people bitching about?
this was at my paren'ts beach house...
apparently in the neighborhood garage doors must be kept closed, and only opened to put cars in and out. and no auto/mechanical work can be done there. and no "hazardous waste" can be stored in or around the garage.
they also wrote us up for puting soap in the pool and make noise after 9pm.... oh and being in the pool at 10:04, when it closes at 10....
they wrote us a bogus $500 fine & cancelled our pool keys... but we called our lawyers, our lawyers called them and informed them that H.O.A. fines are just invitations for lawsuits and we'd be more than happy to take them to court. the H.O.A. called back and said our pool keys have been reactivated and the fine was withdrawn, and that this was our first verbal warning.
stupid old people drama...

that neighborhoos is pretty strict.... old people who live around there ride around on their bikes patroling the blocks pretending to be security guards. i really wish they'd just find a hobby and hit the bingo tables. they call in the smallest of things. ugh.

checking a few minor things tomorrow, then towing it back to the place i bought the motor from, so they can either find whats wrong, or replace it..... bleh, my rental car is losing it's fun... stupid tray sliding and stupid flat spots on the tires....

hahahahah, sounds like my neighborhood

they come around with clipboards checking out how many cars are parked outside, and how well groomed the grass is.

good luck with the swap.

just call me

because i friggen give up.
(it's funny cause my name's erik )
talked to the guys i bought the motor from and they referred me to a shop nearby. they said if the problem was motor related they'd cover it, if it was wiring related thats my bad.
thats way cool that they have a warranty like that. makes me feel much much safer.

i bet it's something so simple. oh well. cross my fingers

yeah. my friend works at a muscle car shop and loaned it to me.

we totaly forgot about it until half way through, we were like "lift that side, no that side, wait hold it there"... then we realized that there was an easier way

...bloody thirsty arguments with **** Home Owners Associations...
I see i am not the only one having difficulties with HOA here in LA.
i actually had threatened the inspector with my breaker bar. i guess he found some humour in that, but after all how am i going to "put this car together right now" when all my suspension is apart and being rebuild?
good luck with the troubleshooting

Sounds like you have worse problems with your neighborhood than you do with the motor. Get the spark issues solved then wind that thing up with an open header and do some burnouts
