mini me d16a6 -> sohc vtec (head swap), need help with parts checklist
My first question is: Will a 96+ sohc vtec head fit onto a d16a6 without modification?
If that doesnt work what are the parts i need to do the d16z6 head swap?
Fill in any blanks (im ignorant)
Head, including both manifolds, distributor, vtec solenoid, ecu .. will i need a new harness, or will i have to splice? any other info is greatly appreciated.

this is the swap that i had in my car and no the head won't slap on to the block, but it will mount up to the stock si tranny, so if you have the whole 96 engine just take off the tranny and put the 88-91 on it. As far as the harness, you can keep the stock si one, but you will have to use the 88-91 dist. and bore out the screw holes on the dist. so that they can mount up to the 96 head. After you have that done you can get an rpm activated switch ( i used the msd one and the 4800 rpm active pill ) and run it to the according places on the engine, check out the site http://www.hybrid.honda-perf.org and look at the 4th gen section

I don't know about the older engines, but I got the SOHC vtec head for my DX motor. Everything bolts right up. If you can't find the harness and ECU, you can go Fields or APEX'i VTEC controller, or like me and use an RPM switch and relay to activate VTEC. I am just waiting on my big throttle body, then I'll have the head/intake ported and be ready to bolt it on. Of course, then it's turbo time baby

then yes all applies to this swap, but enlighten me, why do you what to reconnect over fifty wires instead of four added wires to the engine?
