Yes, the SOHC VTEC head will bolt right on to the non-VTEC heads. If you slap that thing on there, change to a VTEC ECU, and wire the VTEC, youre set baby

The fact that you have an auto would not be a problem. However, you need to get an auto ECU. The ECU for a D16Z6 is a P28. Just make sure it's for an auto. Also, if you want the extra work, you could swap out the auto tranny for a manual one. You'll have to do this if you get a B16 one day, so why not now.

Re: Mini-Me Help (accord55)
you will also have to get the whole pedal setup out of any 88-91 civic/crx five speed. All the wiring holes in the fire wall and the mount points inside the car are all already there so just put the stuff in. there is also another way to wire the car up, you can get the obd-1 series ecu and re wire the plugs, or, you get an 88-91 civic/crx si ecu and wire in an rpm activator switch to the vtec selinod and have it come on when ever you like, just change the ativation rpm, I used to have this setup and put the vtec on at 4400 rpm and it worked out nicely. Now have a b16a which you will love later down the road. Plus, if you intend on going to the b16a and re-wire the ecu plugs to fit the obd-1 computer, when you get the b16a you wil have to rewire back to the original plugs, lots o fun, just food for thought.
