Re: MASSIVE D16Y8 Head Onto D15B7/8 Block MiniMe Swap Writeup!!!
Today, thanks to this marvelous write up. I successfully installed a D16Y8 head complete with manual IM on my B7 block. I will chime in on a few things. You will need to block off the top vacuum nipple (driver side facing outwards) the D15B7 dizzy workes perfectly fine. I have an AEM tru timing gear advanced to 4.5*. Ran all the noted lines (both coolant and vacuum) to their partners. The one thing I didnt install was the IAC. Started right up, after a few timing trials and throttle cable adjustments it idles at a clean 1k. P28 ECU installed and running the setup (without a chip) Last thing left to do is run VTEC wiring and I'm mini me'd. I am living proof of this swap on a D15B7 block. I did have to t off into the coolant return line off the IM under the throttle body. No leaks, temp holds, better low end power. Happy, happy, happy.

Thanks, seem like people are still following this thread, just got into the whole Honda scene due to how much power you can get out of those 4 bangers, this is my first build and wanted to try some tested and proven. Glad to read I can use the cam gear off the d15b7 for the y8 head. It is crazy how hard it was to find good info, glad I found it.
