Default Making your own header for your hybrid? How Hard.

meant to be the way it sounds.

You figure you have the DC/Greddy or something worthless like that as a diagram/prototype. So wouldn't just getting the larger pipes and making correct bends be the hardest part, considering you know how to weld.

I'm just curious to give it a shot hor my H22 Eg application being that i can't afford a SMS right now.

I guess i'm asking has anyone ever attempted it or have any other spec that can help with my adventure ahead.

The hardest part will be understanding physics behind headers to make power. Any one can weld one together.

Look into this SAE paper:

G.P. Blair and J.R. Goulburn, "unsteady flow effects in the exhaust systems for multi-Cylinder Automobile engines"

SAE paper No: 690469

It is a start, but you will have a greater understanding of exhaust.

thx gixxer...downloading pdf now

From what i understand, i know that equal lenght and equal flow is what will make max power

So joinging the tubes and making the bends flow equally to output as one force is what will make the power or exhaust flow the way it is meant to flow

In a sense, yes. But to engineer something that will flow the way you want it, in comes your friend physics. There is a lot of info about exhaust at SAE. Read up and you will make the power you want!

BTW, I hope you like math, your going to need it

summit racing has pre-bent mandrel exhaust pipe for headers in all sizes

http://store.summitracing.com/...&y=11

best of all they're cheap and shippings free.

hell bro let us know how it goes. Im also will be attempting my own header for my all motor h22 project. It will be like 3 or 4 more months before I actually get started on it. Still waiting for parts to come in before i do my rebuild. But once the rebuild is done then Im gonna start figuring what i can do.
