lsvtec injector code only over 7.5k rpm
91 hatch full eg harness( i didnt do this) mild lsv build tuned on crome walbro fuel pump stock 240 injectors. All obd1. Now this is wierd. It shows no codes untill i try to run it past 7.5k twice. Yes the first time it will rev out to 9 but after u drop below 7.5 and tach it out the second time the injector code comes up and it will not rev past 3.5 (limp mode) untill i shut it off and restart then the codes gone n it will rev fine till u tack it out again. Ive changed injectors to known working ones and all the wires seem to b good.. any ideas? Thanks

My advice is to not spin up to 9k with an LS block unless you have arp rod bolts at a minimum and thicker rods, try another ecu is my guess

Could it be maxing out the injectors at the higher rpm's? I dont know the history of the tune but i know its a chipped p28.

Im not sure what hes referring to im not familiar with Crome. But if you have 240cc injectors and a decent tune it shouldnt be running out of injector, you might be on the high side of fuel pressure for them to be efficient but they should still have room.

pull out your dmm and check the resistance on all injector and compare them to spec. Do a cylinder balance test and disconnect one at a time to see if a cylinder doesn't contribute. \. Also, are you using an obd1 ecu?

no. its in the injector circuit. Now what were the resistance readings? there is a possibility you have obd0 injectors instead of obd1.

The injector test (which you can disable in crome) checks to see if there are acutal injectors on each circuit, or if the drivers are working. My guess is to check the clips (especially the pins inside them) and the "dead end" cannon plug behind the driver's shock tower. At high RPM there could be enough vibration where a clip is rattling loose enough to trigger the code.
FYI 240cc injectors tend to max out around 160whp at the stock 3bar fuel pressure, so I wouldn't try pushing them as hard as you are. If you spent enough money to spin to 9k safely, $200 on a set of new injectors isn't going to hurt.

Re: lsvtec injector code only over 7.5k rpm
of course obd0 injectors will fire. they will have less resistance than an obd1. But also what hiprofile says is a huge probability. Had the same problem on the dyno at bisimotos. one injector clip would somewhat vibrate and give an open which lead to one cylinder going super lean.
