ls/vtec running on non vtec ecu
my issue is i have a 2000 integra ls/vtec running having to run on the ls ecu, the car runs but it sounds like a loud truck, is it possible to chip the obd2 ecu or would i have to get a standalone to make the car run smooth. the car is throwing a cel but i believe that is because it's using a vtec engine wire harness and because the ecu was not meant to work with a vtec head, any other opinions? flame all you want just as long as help is given i'll think of it as constructive criticism.

Re: ls/vtec running on non vtec ecu (crispchris)
ok kinda cancel the running part but it should just be the throttle is not staying open enough at idle

if u have high compression pistons i think that ecu would fry your motor after a while. if the ecu is set up for hondata, chrome or whatever u can run what ever base map u want just have to activate vtec. to me obd-2 is to sucks *** anyway i would go obd-1. if your gonna run obd-2 i would get a vtec ecu and disable the knock sensor then you'll be good
