LS/Vtec oil line?
I was planning on just buying one of the kits from http://www.jdmhondapats.com or http://www.c-speedracing.com but the seem a little steep in price. Can someone give me a complete list of what is needed for the oil line setup? I can get all of the parts on http://www.amstreetrod.com/index.html but do not know exactly what I need.

Two words...

Vernon's LS/VTEC line kits are the best out there, period. The size of the ss braided line is correct and he uses all BSPT fittings. Not the NPT fittings like everybody else. There is no need to tap new threads with Vernon's kit.
I have built quite a few LS/VTEC and CR/VTEC setups using his kit. I can not say enough good things about him and his products.
He also offers PCV kits for '96-up LS blocks and CR-V blocks. As you may, or may not, already know the '96-up LS blocks and CR-V blocks do not have a spot for a breather box on the back of the block. This makes it difficult to hook up a PCV. But, if you use Vernon's PCV kit it is real easy.
He offers great customer service and good prices.

However he left out the an to npt adapters. What I think is cheapest is to retap the oil sender line to 1/8 npt and get the npt to an adapter. You'll also need two more 1/8" npt to an adapters for the t fittings so you'll need a total of three.
So all you need is the:
head adapter fitting
4 hose ends
3 1/8" npt to an adapters
ss braided line
1/8" npt tap
tefon tape
T fitting.
The web site has the particular part no.

What is so bad about teeing the oil line off of the block?

Do I have to drill the threads out before I re-tap it to NPT? I have taped a few things before, but never anything that was already threaded.

When the outer diameters are very close to each other, I don't bother drilling because the resultant OD may be too large to rethread. You could get the bspt adapter fitting to avoid retapping-that's what I did. However, you have to hunt it down and wait for it to ship and if I could do it again I wouldn't bother with it.

I got all my vtec oil line parts at a local performance shop for $26, and that was with a couple of extra fittings. What exactly are you having to tap out because I did not have to do that. I just ran the line from the oil pressure switch hole.
