ls-vtec issues
just built a lsvtec stock ls bottom end with a b16 head when i got the head it was bad a piston had hit the head. two bent valves and combustion chamber wasent to great. brought it to a machine shop had it "fixed" put on couldidnt get great compression out of it bad cylinder was 130 while the rest were 180 on the dyno the thing made pretty good power 142 whp hondata tunned but it was detonating on decel so we had to pull back timing. so we think there is a hot spot in the bad cylinder. now the kicker. vtec ingauges great on the dyno and makes pretty good power. as soon as the car was put on the street vtec ingauges slugshly and its not making near gsr power. what would change from dyno to street? why would a car make good power on a dyno then fall on its face on the street? aney ideas caus im getting fed up http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

Re: ls-vtec issues (cstay)
alright i think the problem is located i took the vtec selonoid off and there was metal shavings in it from when i taped the hole in the bottom of the head i tried to blow it out with compresed air when i did it but i guess i didnt do a good enough job so i think that oil pressure is being blocked to some of the lobes so vtec is only engaging in half of the cylinders. aneybody ever cleaned out the vtec lines before also is there way i can pressureize the system and se what happens?
