LS swap: 96-97 EX ECU Harness
I need to get a 96-97 ecu harness for my 96 hatch that will be getting a LS dropped in. I talked to a friend and the way the harness works for the teg ecu, it will slide right up with little wiring. Does anyone know a place online or somewhere in the sac to bay area that I can get one for a good price?
thanks

I'm not sure exaclty what you are asking but you have to use your Civic engine harness on the LS motor and then plug the LS ecu to your Civic harness. Keeping it all OBDII will make the swap much simpler. If the LS ECU is OBDI then you'll need an ODBII to OBDI ecu jumper harness.

How come you don't want to use your stock harness? It's not too bad. Just change some plugs, and you should be set.

damn, hah, he explained this all to me and why using a 96/97 EX Harness is much easier. I think one thing has to do something with intake manifold and the DX has 3 plugs and the LS has 2. I forget why already (im a dumbass) but he said, to get the EX one and save alot of trouble of rewiring

He is right that on the IAC the dx harness uses a 3 wire plug, and the ex uses a 2 wire sensor. If you have the money, i guess it would be alot easier using the ex harness. Also you wouldnt have to move the iac wire on the ecu. So i'm guessing it would be just straight plug and play. Good luck!

Depending on the Ecu(I used USDM obd2)you use, you might throw code 91. Even if you use the EX harness.
can anyone help me find one (again)

Re: LS swap: 96-97 EX ECU Harness (ransack)
Well I would do it either way... It's really not that hard to rewire the IAC and the CKFS onto the LS... The bonus that you get with the EX harness is that you're already wired for VTEC incase you do LSVTEC later on.. If you plan on that later I would consider running a KS line out of the ECU even if you won't be using it for awhile...
