Default LS motor with mods or GSR ?

a friend of mines is selling his LS motor with mods and i been thinkin about getting it for my car. It has lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch, skunk 2 cams gears, cams shafts, jdm header, and with LSD tranny. do u think this would be faster then a regular stock GSR motor? i figure with the GSR motor it would be faster cuz of the VTEC.

depends on driver. but....i went ls, i could have spent about 2k more and would have been quite a bit quicker, but you could also save up another 1k and put a turbo on the ls and **** all over the gsr. but the gsr motor is a great one.

what kinda car is the motor going into?
What year and milage?
If you got crower 62403 ot even better 62404 cams with come mild head worka and some new pistions(high comp) retainers, valve springs, cam gears, rods, and a re-chipped ecu that rev to atleast 8k you'll be putting down some decent# somthing like 170hp rang. but the GSR is a good motor......, just sucks not having any tourqe.

The GSR motor has every bit as much torque as the B18B. I don't know why people say it doesn't. Also, the torque curve is flatter. You must also keep in mind that if you performed the same mods to a GSR motor, it would flat out ROAST an LS motor. And because it is VTEC, you would make fewer drivability sacrifices.

it has 2 pounds less or more i think but the rod ratio of the LS makes it feel faster
