Default LS motor. Long or Short block??

I'm trying to decide whether to sell my car, or "hybridize" it. If I do a swap, its going to be a LS/turbo setup. Here's my question(s).

A guy would trade me $400+ a LS 92 LS block. It is a LONG block. It has 45k on it. Good condition etc....

-- Does the B18a1 come in short and long blocks?
--Which would be better for a turbo setup?
--Is there anything I should check for before I trade?
-- If I'm right I could just slap the following major parts on and have a complete engine:
LS block
GSR head
Pistons,rods,seals, gaskets, etc....right?

--Lastly, if I would to go this LS block, what would your setup suggestions be....????

Thanks!

Does the B18a1 come in short and long blocks?
A LONGBLOCK is basically a complete block and head minus the external bolt-ons (intake + exhaust manifolds, alternator, etc.). A SHORTBLOCK is the block only without a head.
