ls into eg
hey guys...i need some info here. my friend just got done doing his ls/vtec and has his ls head that hes going to give me.
first off, where can i find a good ls block?
secondly, what all do i need to get to install this into my 93 civic lx? its an auto and im doing an auto to manual conversion along with it.
any info, list of parts, est. prices, websites would be of great help...

I would recommend getting the block from a local wreck year. Otherwise http://www.hmotorsonline.com
As for auto to 5sp, buy the tranny on the block.

the only thing is i need the ls block only...well...with tranny or whatever else too...i didnt see that on the site, or did i just overlook it?

Since you have an auto chassis, you're going to have to change and add a few things. Besides the fact that you need to add a pedal assembly and reroute some hydro lines, you're also going to have to either A get a custom mount for the passenger side transmission mount, or B cut the stock framerail mount off and relocate it 1" back and 1.25" higher, placing it in the stock 5-spd mount location. That's just to give you an idea of the extra work involved when swapping over a 5-spd B-series motor.
