LS into 93 civic VX! which heater hoses and throttlecable
I'm dropping an LS motor into a 93 civic VX. I wanted know if the civic heater hoses will work with the LS motor? Or do i have to use the LS heater hoses? Also what throttle cable do i need? Thanks

Re: LS into 93 civic VX! which heater hoses and throttlecable (SiR831)
You will need radiator hoses for the LS motor. In addition you will need a larger inlet and outlet for your radiator. You can get an "adaptor" that fits over your existing radiator or get one from a 99-00 civic si.
Your belts will be different also...I have the part numbers just not with me Just get some for an ls motor as well.
Throttle cable should be ok you will have to modify it a little. It just needs to be a little longer so take off one of the brackets near or on the firewall I believe and that should get you there although on my B18 swap my buddy busted out a modified bracket to get the correct angle.
BTW do a search and you will get all the info you can handle.

no you dont need an adapter, as long as you clamp the hoses well it will work fine
throttle cable brackets near the firewall? do you have any idea what your talking about?
look for the throttle cable you have 3 options
1) fabricate a bracket with some JB weld
2) SOME stock brackets work if you only use 1 screw hole
3) get the LS throttle cable and use the bracket from the motor.
if the stock bracket dosent work, JB welding one up is cake.

LOL...dont want to start with you Kamin as I respect your opinion. But tightening a hose thats .25 inch wider is not what I call solving a problem.
I will take a close-up pic of my bracket and that might help you out with the throttle cable problem. Unless you have an LS cable laying around I would follow Kamins advice.

Here are some pics that may help you out. First one is the modified bracket.
We bent this just slighty. BTW its a itr swap not an ls swap.
Sorry about the firewall thing. Its pretty late here and I thought "cable comes out of the firewall" and there it was. But damn Kamin you should play nicer

Its kinda like Iming but not.
Wouldn't you say though that if a person that might be running a/c and lives in a hot climate that possibly that could be a weak point?
BTW how'd you like the bracket? It works really well. And yes I have only done two swaps so you got me there.

Thanks for the replies guys! I know i have to use the integra radiator hoses but i was asking about the heater hoses. The two hoses that come out of the firewall. So will the civic heater hoses work or will i have to buy the integra ones?

I agree, use the civic heater hoses.
For the throttle cable bracket, here's another picture of a custom one we made for mine so I could use the stock civic cable.

Great lookin bracket!
Where'd you get the aluminum to make it? I need to make one, but I can't find a place to get a decent gauge of aluminum.

I lucked out. A buddy of mine works at a place called O&N Aircraft, where they have the most incredible array of tools, materials, and machining. He was able to hook me up with the aluminum and machines to bend it and welding to strengthen it.
Unfornately, I'm not sure where you could pick some up. I have seen companies on the web, but I think they were large scale distributors.
