Lower timing belt cover b20vtec
Does it matter which timing belt cover to use b16a or the one that came with the B20b bottom end or do I need one from an ls block. Reason iam asking because my cam gear timing is off a little bit every time I try to align it its still off about a tooth iam using the B20b lower cover.

if you're using a usdm obd2 oil pump, use an obd2 cover. (doesn't matter which b series)
if you're using a jdm or obd1 usdm oil pump, use an obd1 cover.
if you're doing mechanical timing, i would remove all covers and use the mark on the oil pump.
