K20z1 in 2000 Integra Type R (DC2) swap questions?

Default K20z1 in 2000 Integra Type R (DC2) swap questions?

Chassis = 2000 Integra Type R
Motor/Transmission = 2005 K20z1
Engine Ecu/Harness = K20a2/Kpro
Sub-harness = Hybrid Racing
Axles = RSX base
Turbo Kit = AFI sidewinder kit
Intake Manifold/Throttle body = RBC with adapters using s2000 70mm throttle body.

1st question = Heater core valve. Do I relocated the actual valve in the car? or should I just extend it away from the header?

2nd question = Wire tucking harnesses for better performance. (trying to keep the k20a2 harness from being burned by exhaust manifold), should I cut hole near heater core hoses and route engine harness through? Also tucking left side through fenders, plan on keeping abs. Is it possible without cuting/extending wires?

3rd question = Fan switch plug, coolant sensor plug. Im using a KOYO rsx radiator, I found the spot for coolant sensor, but cannot locate spot for fan switch. Also do I need to source the plugs for each for a b-series engine harness? or these sensor plugs still in the engine bay?

4th question = Axles, Im told the rsx base axles are 32mm, then I'm told the ITR hub is 36mm. Should I just swap my B-series outer axles portions onto the RSX base axles?

5th question = Where do the coolant lines come off motor to plug into throttle body? (Plan on using these to water cool turbo)

Fuel System:

There are 3 hard lines going under the car to the fuel tank.
In - going to fuel filter
Return - going off fuel pressure regulator
3rd - Is it for the evaporator box? Do I just plug it up?

You can use the sensors off any b or d series engine. To make things easier you can get the "rad hose insert"

The jdm itr hub is 36mm, the usdm is 32mm...someone correct me if im wrong?

JDM HUBS ARE 36MM....USDM ARE 32MM....

1. I dont think you can move the heater core valve, the cable isnt long enough to do so. I thinks it fine right there.

2.Wire tucking harnesses for better performance???

3.You can use the rsx rad or karcepts make an inline hose adapter for the sensors and you can just block off the one on the rad.

4. All rsx axles i believe are 36mm yes you can swap outers but i know many people use type s axles and are rated to 400 hp. Especially if you plan on going turbo.

5. I dont think i have seen anyone run a water cooled turbo in a while.

You should prob become a member of k20a.org and read up on alot of things before you attempt anything. You also need to cut off the passenger side motor mount and cut a holes for the karcepts shifter kit or holes for the cables which ever way you decide to run the rsx shifter box.

Also you going to run into problems with the vss on the z1.

As far as the vss on the k20z1, going to try the speed box (normally used for s2000 clusters).

Nope. The DC5 base RSX axles have 32mm out hubs. The DC5 Type S and DC5 Type R axles have 36mm hubs.

If you have USDM Type R DC2 suspension, your hubs are 32mm. If you have JDM Type R DC2 suspension your hubs are 36mm.

Match up the axles to your suspension.

And for best fitment, switch the inner hubs around.

To answer your #5 question, the metal coolant pipe that runs from the thermostat housing, to the heater core hose. You will see ports on it, those are the stock locations for the throttle body coolant lines.

I have been a member on k20a.org and when people ask what axles to use noone ever recommended rsx base axles. If you are turboing your car i would def run type s axles.
I also too have an oem rsx rad and i took it out of my friends car i thought both the fan switch and coolant temp were on the bottom but i looked around. Do you plan on daily driving your car cuz if not maybe you should just loop the lines for the heater core to give you more room. Try that thread i gave you its very informative. Good luck with everything i am currently am swapping my car too.

On my GSR I ran a watercooled garrett t3/t4. I installed an aftermarket rad that had coolant ports for an auto transmission. Made it very simple.

I would run a watercooled tubro as well. Keep your oil temps down a little.

Im wanting the heater hooked up for a few reasons:
1. Incase the car overheats
2. Gets cold
3. Going to hook up a/c, might as well have a heater also

The only difference in rsx type s axles are they are 36mm, and base axles are 32mm.
Most people who do k-series swaps don't use USDM ITR 5 lugs.

Watercooling definitely helps, you really don't need to turbo time when your water-cooled.

Edit: Going to try to maybe shorten the hose for the heater valve to move it out the way, and test fit for turbo manifold.

thats weird tho i havent heard anything about rsx base axles, i have been searching because idk if i just wanna buy hybrid or hasports, i dont have my stock b series anymore. It doesnt matter if its 5 or 4 lug all usdm honda are 32mm only jdm 5 lug is 36mm. Circuitworx makes new hubs for 4 lug that are 36 mm so you can run type s axles with no mods.

they seem to be, i know they are thicker then bseries.

Ill go measure.

I ran 450whp daily on stock bseries axles. Of course I never launched the car.

now i was trying to read i the thread are the midshafts the same on the type s and base rsx? I have a type s one now if it works with base axles then i am very glad you made this thread saved me some money

i was curious about this too i was reading on k20a that people cut the line back buy the tank and some people leave it open in the bay but then have a gas smell in the cabin after every fill up. I think they said not to cap it because then you will have too much pressure or fumes in the tank i will try to find the link for you.

BTW, the VSS works of the ring gear on the differential, you can just add the ring gear onto the LSD... No need for a whole new differential.

No, the Type S axles have a 36mm hub. The USDM ITR hubs have 32mm hubs. Only the JDM ITR have 36mm hubs.

He will need base RSX axles which are 32mm.
