Default TURBO K20EK by KAIZENSPEED...

UPDATE: MORE PICS OF THE TURBO SETUP ON THE BOTTOM OF PG. 3

Well we recently finished swapping a K20A2 in to an EK hatch. The setup isn't anything crazy, just basic bolt-on's. Hasport mounts and axles were used to get the motor in the chassis and the wiring harness was also from hasport. The shifter is stock from the donor RSX-S, and it feels almost as nice as an S2000! Engine mods consist of a custom KAIZENSPEED cold air intake, Hytech header, and custom KAIZENSPEED 2.5" stainless exhaust with a HKS Carbon-Ti muffler. Engine management was originally a re-flashed ECU using a DC5-R program, but our customer decided that we would upgrade that in favor of the Hondata K-Pro for more tuneability and possible future upgrades (think turbo). The setup using the old re-flashed ECU made 182 whp on a DynoDynamics dyno which are known for reading about 15% lower than a DyoJet, so that puts the car right on par. What we were most impressed with was the "tabletop" torque line. You can really feel the car pull even from as low as 3000 rpm, which is great for autocross, the car just digs it self out of corners.

Well enough of my babbling on with the pictures!

Dyno sheet

Just hangin' out at the old shop getting some suspension work during the swap

Engine bay after completion

Yep...it's still a Honda

Chillin' at the new shop waiting for us to finish tuning the K-Pro

Suspension is Ground control coilovers w/ Tokico Illumina's, Mugen rear trailing arm bushings, and Suspension Techniques swaybars.

Header is Hytech,.... but we're working on replacing that w/ a turbo mani soon

The sticker was for a show we attended and are no longer on the car.

you didn't happen to install a Karcepts shift kit did you? how is the clearance ABOVE the header beneath the shifter? is there room for the shift kit?

Can you please measure the distance from the top of the header (near collector) to the bottom of the shifter???

I ask b/c I have the same hytech header

see here for pics of the shift kit & R-crew header https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1357693

exhaust canister and rear window stickers = ugh

But nice dyno.... nice flat torque curve from 3150 to redline

Edit: read that rear window stickers were removed

Sorry it took so long to reply...

It looks like you mounted you shifter differently than we did, ours is mounted completely on the inside of to passenger cabin. The shift cables clear the header by plenty with it set up that way. I'll try to snap a few of our shifer install soon. I'd like to see some more pics of your shifter installation when you can get around to it. Beautiful EJ6 BTW.

We mounted the shifter on top, tig welded a plate over the hole in the chassis, and shortened the shifter by machining a sleeve and shortening the shifter rod a few inches, then re-welding. Shifter height is perfect and the feel of the shifter is awesome. Here's some pics:

no...no...no the link I posted is not my car....but I will be using the same shift kit....

I realize you mounted your shifter inside the car...what I am wondering is how much clearence there is above the header (near the collector probably) just underneath were the shifter is (even in your car - with the shifter inside)

I want to make sure I have enough space BEFORE i cut a hole where the stock shifter sits. I believe the shifter relocator kit by Karcepts sits it 2.5-3" down in the tunnel (where the header is)

Since we both have the same header (Hytech), same chassis (EK), & same mounts it would be VERY helpful if you could go underneath the car (put it on a lift) and measure how much space is above the header (it actually could be the cat or B-pipe (mid-pipe)...whatever is directly beneath the shifter. Here are
some pics

BELOW IS A PIC OF WHAT I WOULD LIKE YOU TO DO FOR ME - PLEASE

LOL, I don't blame you for wanting the single slammer again, gas is crazy expensive!

I think you'd be surprised how well your H would hang with the K. Another customer of ours has a mildly modded H (I,H,E and cams) in an EK, and it is a very good matchup.
