K20EG scammed more than $8,000 from hybrid racing
K20EG stole more than 8,000 from my company and is now trying to ruin my comapanies name....
If anyone has any questions related to this please email and i can more than help you with the swap.
We did not want to take it to this level as we are trying to start and run a company, but I think it is necessary that all Honda-tech members know and understand the full story.
First, We have tried to fix this situation numerous times and we are still willing to fix the situation even now.
I first contacted Eric in early August 2003. At this time I was interested in doing the swap. Eric seemed to be one of the few people that knew the âÂÂins and outsâ of the process and after I had done some research on Honda-tech I felt as though he would be able to assist me. We began discussing the fabrication of the products and it was concluded that he would need the money up-front to have them produced. I then flew to California to see the product and to get a business feel for him. Upon arriving, I helped him change out the head on his motor and the âÂÂfab guyâ was still test fitting the new mounts. The first âÂÂfab guyâÂÂsâ product wasnâÂÂt up to par and they needed to be redesigned. The following day Eric and I went to a shop that his friend owns called Subzero where I spent the entire day waiting around and occasionally installed a few parts for Eric in order to âÂÂprove myselfâ to him. I went there on a business trip to discuss the fabrication of the products and I ended up being taken advantage of and working for free. It was very interesting to see how the shop was run and the people I met were very nice, but the reason I went was to discuss the K series swap and to work out the details with Eric. Eric and I never really did get around to talking business and I feel as though the trip was not productive regardless of my attempts to befriend Eric, which included helping to pay for his vafc2 for his hatch.
I flew back home and a few days later Eric informed me that he needed $6500.00 for parts, etc. He also said that he was going to be in âÂÂHonda Tuningâ as soon as his car gets painted. I then offered to help him get his car painted and told him I will send some money for the mounts, etc. We had come to an agreement that Eric would fabricate all the parts and we would pay a set price for these products. In addition, we would be the sole distributors for the product. Erick and I agreed that Hybrid Racing would receive 60% of total profits and Eric would receive 40%. The reasoning behind Hybrid receiving a larger percentage was that we would be fronting the money to advertise them and taking a big financial risk. Eric then told me that he needed the money at that moment and that the fabricator was waiting. In fear of something like this happening I saved the conversations between Eric and I and the following is one of them:
RevhardEG23: i wanted to let you know he called me this morning
HONDASPEDER: the fab guy
RevhardEG23: the laser cutter only gonna front part of it
RevhardEG23: if you could wire 1500 would be much better
RevhardEG23: can you wire to my bank account
HONDASPEDER: i cant do 1500 without the contract i am not supposed to do 1000 thatâÂÂs all i can send until next week
HONDASPEDER: i can send it to your account
RevhardEG23: then dont do it at all
RevhardEG23: it wont work
HONDASPEDER: he can start on some of it
HONDASPEDER: ?
HONDASPEDER: i am working with you man work with me
RevhardEG23: its not up to me
HONDASPEDER: why canâÂÂt he just do half
HONDASPEDER: or something
HONDASPEDER: We just need to wait until the contract is done
RevhardEG23: yes i understand that
HONDASPEDER: and its hard for me to convey the rush aspect of all this
RevhardEG23: but imma put it this way ...were asking some people to consume 2-3 days of there time and wait a week to pay em
RevhardEG23: in front of paying customers
HONDASPEDER: yeah
HONDASPEDER: i understand
HONDASPEDER: what your saying
HONDASPEDER: too
RevhardEG23: if i had 500 to give hime i would
RevhardEG23: but im hurtin till monday
RevhardEG23: thats my payday
HONDASPEDER: let me see what i can do
HONDASPEDER: I am not sure
RevhardEG23: i am workin with you ...i have to pull the mounts outta my car so he can make his jigs
RevhardEG23: and all that before a money race on sunday
RevhardEG23: do you want the routing number and account number on one of my checks
HONDASPEDER: yeah
HONDASPEDER: i need the bank name
HONDASPEDER: and all that stuff too
I then sent him $1500.00 for the initial materials that he needed for the mounts. Sending the money was not easy as I am still trying to start up and run a shop of my own. I had a customer come in and request a Hydro B series transmission. I called Eric to see if he knew of anywhere I could get one. He told me that he had one that was rebuilt and all new. Erick said I could have it for approximately $600.00, if my memory is correct. I sent him the money in return for a Type R gauge cluster, cams, transmission, and header. He then began calling saying that he needed the rest of the money for the mounts and for his paint. I agreed to send him the money. Eric then signed the contract and faxed it back to me. I have it on file if anyone would like to see a copy of this. I realize that faxing a contract wasnâÂÂt the best way to get the contract signed but I trusted Eric. I then began waiting for the mounts, the headers, and all my B series parts. Eric said that he was too busy to finish his semi pnp harness and that he was going to send it to us to be finished, which I believed we were very capable of doing. We got the harness in the mail, which I have pictures of if anyone would like to see it, sometime during October or November. Keep in mind that I was still waiting for my B series parts and all the other products I had requested. The wire harness was completely cut and botched with everything butt-connected and electrical taped together. This was no where close to being plug and play and needed a decent amount of work. However, Eric insisted that it worked. After spending time going over the harness I decided that we were going to redo the entire harness. I then contacted a friend who is very skilled at creating wire harnesses and had him finish it, making it the plug and play harness it was supposed to be. We tried to use the harness that Eric had sent but decided that it was too botched to salvage and we re-made the entire harness from scratch and I still have the harness that Eric initially sent us. We fixed all the codes that Eric said his harness threw in his car, made the harness plug and play, added two new plugs, and eliminated relays along with a few other plugs that Eric had in his initial harness. Here is some of the conversation that went on during this time. Most of this was prior to Eric sending out the harness. I was asking some general questions and trying to get everything ready so I could begin on the harness. The last lines are discussing the contract and how it should be executed. I also received the B series parts during this time and one of the parts was wrong and I was unable to install and test the transmission as the customerâÂÂs car was being painted.
HONDASPEDER: the wiring
HONDASPEDER: i have a question
HONDASPEDER: were do you need to cut the
HONDASPEDER: eg dash harness
HONDASPEDER: the main ecu plugs?
RevhardEG23: no
HONDASPEDER: i have some ideas
RevhardEG23: at the cluster
HONDASPEDER: the gauge cluster or the cluster underneath the dash of wires
RevhardEG23: yea
RevhardEG23: you need the original power source
HONDASPEDER: hmm
RevhardEG23: and the sending units hooked from the cluster to the harness
HONDASPEDER: cluster = gauge cluster?
RevhardEG23: you know what just dawned on me
RevhardEG23: i sent you the wrong a/c bracket by mistake
RevhardEG23: my bad
RevhardEG23: yes cluster
RevhardEG23: how many are there in a car
HONDASPEDER: its coo
HONDASPEDER: i was just making sure
HONDASPEDER: so that is the only place you need to cut
HONDASPEDER: and wire in
HONDASPEDER: hmmm
HONDASPEDER: o and i think i can make the ac work
HONDASPEDER: i have an ac guy coming tomorrow to look at it my swap came with all the ac lines
RevhardEG23: ok
RevhardEG23: i wouldnt pursue that to much
HONDASPEDER: just for those who want it
HONDASPEDER: its not a big deal
HONDASPEDER: how many wires do we need to cut etc
HONDASPEDER: i want to start wiring it up
RevhardEG23: the a/c part is a big deal
HONDASPEDER: yea
HONDASPEDER: bet
RevhardEG23: ok
RevhardEG23: imma send you my harness i made
RevhardEG23: just wait till it gets to you
HONDASPEDER: in the mail
RevhardEG23: yes
HONDASPEDER: today? or when you get back
RevhardEG23: only cause i dont want you to *** up
HONDASPEDER: haha
HONDASPEDER: ok
RevhardEG23: and its so ez to *** up
HONDASPEDER: is it alot?
RevhardEG23: but honestly you need to get out your service manuels
HONDASPEDER: i have them
RevhardEG23: and really study ecu pins
HONDASPEDER: for what the _______
HONDASPEDER: and the ______ plug
HONDASPEDER: and than match it to the eg
RevhardEG23: i got all that figured out
RevhardEG23: all you need to do is
RevhardEG23: make the cluster work and wire in the ELD
HONDASPEDER: so right now with your harness the cluster dose not work and the eld is all fucked up
HONDASPEDER:?
RevhardEG23: NO
RevhardEG23: i never wired the eld
RevhardEG23: and
HONDASPEDER: i got you
RevhardEG23: the cluster is wired up on a per car basis
RevhardEG23: that part is not plug and play
HONDASPEDER: got you
RevhardEG23: just get familiar with the plugs on your cluster to
HONDASPEDER: ok
HONDASPEDER: so plugs on the cluster and what other plugs...
HONDASPEDER: should i study up on
RevhardEG23: E ecu plug
RevhardEG23: plus
HONDASPEDER: ok
RevhardEG23: you got the relays for the fuel pump
HONDASPEDER: yea
RevhardEG23: and a/f sensors
HONDASPEDER: i have 3 relays
HONDASPEDER: bosh
RevhardEG23: ok
RevhardEG23: someone posted a thread on honda-tech giving a link to club rsx
RevhardEG23: about how to disable the immobilizer
RevhardEG23: on the k20a ecu
RevhardEG23: it is really ez just ground one wire
RevhardEG23: and hey
HONDASPEDER: were is that link?
HONDASPEDER: yea

HONDASPEDER: motec
RevhardEG23: Toda C
HONDASPEDER: big balla
HONDASPEDER: i didnâÂÂt know they made c's
HONDASPEDER: when are you sending everything when you get back
HONDASPEDER: how much for the cams
HONDASPEDER: can i run those on a stock ecu
HONDASPEDER: i think i am going to send me ecu to hondata? what do you think
RevhardEG23: im selling my toda ecu to
RevhardEG23: well talk about it later
HONDASPEDER: ok well i am done with the stuff i had to fix i am email it to you where you want it to go
RevhardEG23: email it here

HONDASPEDER: tell him to email me
HONDASPEDER: i sent the email
At the time of this conversation I have sent Eric money and was still waiting for the parts. I was trying not to post too much about it as not to create a huge hype and not be able to deliver any parts. At this same time a customer came in for the B series transmission that Eric had sent. We installed it and it had a horrible grind going into 3rd gear and was very loud. I told Eric of the situation yet he offered me nothing to compensate for sending me a bad part. At this time I still I had no mounts, no headers, and a B series transmission that Eric had rebuilt that is completely useless. A few months went by without receiving these parts and my business partners and I began to question whether we will be receiving any parts and if the parts even existed. This is a recent conversation with Eric:
HONDAspeder: hey what are we doing about this tranny the B series one
HONDAspeder: kid keeps callin
HONDAspeder: ??????
K2OEG: i was supposed to get another trans like saturday
K2OEG: i dunno..
HONDAspeder: i am in a spot
HONDAspeder: we need to do something
HONDAspeder: can u send me another one and ill send you this one back
K2OEG: when i get another one i will do that
HONDAspeder: and when will that be this kid is bangin on my door
HONDAspeder: i have to do something
HONDAspeder: its been 3 months
K2OEG: so do something
K2OEG: i dont have a trans right now
K2OEG: to send you
HONDAspeder: then send me the money and ill send you the tranny back
HONDAspeder: and buy one
K2OEG: negative
HONDAspeder: alright
HONDAspeder: hey lets skip the free fedex stuff cause i have people that want that stuff now just drop it off at the station so we can get it sent out to the customers
K2OEG: ?
HONDAspeder: the mounts i need to send them out to people like they are just waiting for like 2 weeks now
HONDAspeder: so lets just ship them and pay if its going to be faster
K2OEG: i got you the weight info like last week
K2OEG: dont start cryin
K2OEG: there here
K2OEG: what about the harnes
K2OEG: you submit it ..or you still giving rides
HONDAspeder: i am waiting for the kid
HONDAspeder: i have 2
HONDAspeder: its submitted
HONDAspeder: ok so pack them up and bring them to fed ex
HONDAspeder: ship them
HONDAspeder: what are you waiting for?
K2OEG: i barely got an answer on the price thurs
K2OEG: i told you 369
K2OEG: or somethin
K2OEG: wait maybe its more if you buy 10
K2OEG: bauhaahahah
HONDAspeder: lol
HONDAspeder: 369 to ship them so now what... are they still on the floor
HONDAspeder: in your garge or in boxes?
K2OEG: i need 40 for containers
HONDAspeder: well get it and ill send the money
We then decided that we have waited long enough so we began to locate local fabrication shops that can help us create our own products. We successfully located a business with a lot of experience that is very reputable. We decided to approach him and begin to redesign the one mount kit that we had and to begin creating our own EF and EK kits.
During this time we were still patiently waiting for the 5 headers that we ordered from Eric. Turns out that the âÂÂfab guyâ had disappeared with the money and we would not be receiving the headers. During this conversation Eric basically said he would compensate us for the money we lost due to his âÂÂfab guyâ running off. While this was a very generous offer, how valid was it considering we still had no headers or mounts?
More time passed and Eric finally agreed to send out the mounts in return for us sending him the plug and play wire harness that we basically made useful. We finally got the mounts and after many months of holding our tongues we decided it was time to talk to Eric about all these matters and tell him how we felt about the situation.
We began talking to him and told him that we wanted the contract to be executed in the correct way. We said that we would still give him all the original money as we had planned but we wanted 10% more of the harness since we actually perfected it and took our time to make it work. He was not happy with this offer and he chose not to continue the business relationship. The offer was still the same with minor modifications and is still being offered if he chooses to accept. We are not in this business to steal his ideas, but we are also not in this business to lose money. If Eric desired I will send back the mounts that he sent me in return for the initial money that I sent him. I am not going to stand by and wait for something that was promised to me more than 4 months ago. I have tried to convey the story as accurate as possible. I leave it up to Honda-Tech and its members to come to their own conclusions about the matter.
Thanks,
Hybrid Racing
If anyone has any questions related to this please email and i can more than help you with the swap.

Re: (6spdEG)
i will just say this K20 is an honest person.. he works hard to satisfy all of his customers. including spending countless late night hours on my dyno perfecting his builds. i dont have any info on what happened with the whole hybrid thing however i refuse to believe the things that you are accusing.

MY RESPONSE HAS BEEN CHANGED: AFTER HEARING FROM BOTH SIDES OF
THIS MATTER IVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT HYBRID RACING SHOULD
NOT HAVE BROUGHT THIS PUBLIC WITH SO MUCH THATS LEFT TO DISCUSS
BETWEEN THE 2 PARTIES....FROM WHAT I GET AFTER LOOKING AT BOTH SIDES
IS THAT HYBRID RACING TRIED TO PLAY "BUDDY BUDDY" WITH ERIC AND
FORMED A BUSINESS PROPISITION...PART OF THAT DEAL WAS THE DESIGN AND
FAB OF THE MOUNTS THE HEADER AND WIRING HARNESS...ONCE HYBRID GOT
THE INFO THEY NEEDED THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO SCREW OVER K20EG/ERIC
FOR MONEY RECIEVED AS WELL AS FUTURE PROFITS!.....WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO
SEE IS SOME PROOF FROM HYBRID ON WHAT THE TRANSACTION WAS I.E:
CONTRACT...ALL IM GETTING IS HERESAY FROM HYBRID AND ERIC IS JUST
TRYING TO KEEP HIS GOOD NAME.....
sorry for the caps but this is bugging me today...on a normal day i wouldnt give 2 *****...but this is wrong and im pissed off about other things in my own personal life...im gonna burn this mother down!Modified by 2trix at 3:04 AM 3/12/2004

Re: (K20EG)
i think this post needs locked, the two parties have a problem that needs to be worked out somewhere else, gettting online and trying to ruin somebodys name isnt the way to do it.
Eric gets from me, never had any problems whatsoever and he has always helped me out.

This is the first Topic that Hybrid-Racing has started, and from what I've read thus far, the only people tellin both sides of the story are Hybrid-Racing, Notice how K20eg just keeps calling "Hybrid-Racing" scammers, He won't actually tell anything about what happened, 6spdEG has done nothing but explain what happened and let you guys decide, I wish K20eg would actually say something instead of just "Screaming Wolf". I mean let's actually look at what happened, I'd have to say that Hybrid-Racing was the one who got scammed!
Read this post and tell me who's being a poon and crying about it.
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=3
And K20eg...I'm still trying to figure out what the hell the problem is....THEY ARE STILL OFFERING YOU THE SAME DEAL YOU WERE ORIGINALLY OFFERED, WHAT ARE YOU PISSED OFF ABOUT...YOU HAVE 8G'S OF THEIR MONEY AND THEY ARE STILL OFFERING YOU A CUT....WHAT'S WRONG HERE!?!?!?!

Re: (FlyinSole)
This is how hybrid racing treats the Jdm engine suppliers
He asked for motors on consignment ...back in october....he got them....to this day he has not paid and has no intention on doing so. Come Mid february ...the importer was in complete panic thinking he was scammed for 2 motors ...he posted on Hybrid racing forum. The moderators *wills buddies* erased all evidence of wrong doing.
Long and short of it,
In Oct-Nov, We sent a shipment of motors to Hybrid Racing, my contact
there was Wil. Hybrid was just starting up and he spoke of great things
about a K20 mount and swap kit. On consignment we sent down a JDM k20A
complete swap and a GSR swap. The GSR was something that he stated did not
have sold but would like to have in the shop to sell to local customers.
The K20a was not something I wanted to send but he assured me that within
a few weeks it would be sold or they would have the funds to pay for it.
K20a 5k USD
GSR 1900 USD
In late Dec Wil stated that the GSR was sold and that he could send the
money for the k20a swap with in a week or two.
Thanks,
Ddfdfk Gdfdfddam

I've read a little from here & there and don't really care what happenned, nor will I read any further into it, but take this **** to the GDD forum where most raves & rants are posted. I've been seeing this same topic brought up this entire week in the Hybrid forum and I like visiting the Hybrid forum to read & help people with their swaps and sort, not read about drama. If you really want people to read about it, put a link in your signature so people will see it and go check it out.
