k20a3 questions
i got a k20a3 longblock and swap in a a2 cams and aluminum mani and i want to know is it possible to throw in a type s six speed tranny on since its used to be a five speed motor. also since i swap in a2 cams and mani, does it make it like an a2 just with lower compressions? thanks

Your info is very wrong on the valvetrain. a2 head is completely different from an a3 and you cannot use the a2 cams as the a3 does not have VTEC in the same way that the a2 head does. IE( the a3 has the I-vtec with the overlap, but the primary VTEC lobes are not the same at all) You can however, swap heads with an a2 head with some modifications to the oil pump, tensioner, ect... but you CAN NOT use a2 cams in an a3 head. As for the tranny....... Im 80% sure you can put the 6-speed right on it and go, but im not 100% sure. There are differences not so much related to bolting up to the block, but as far as the shifter box/cables and making everything work right in an EG/DC chasis. try K20a.org they have all this information, and if you serached through here you would find it as well.
