Default K20 swap in a EG

Hey guys;
I know I'm a noob here but I'm not a nub to the whole performance modding scene... I'm a Toyota guy and have been around in the Toyota scene for quite some time ...

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the K20 swap into a EG HatchBack

I wanted to know
- what trans can I use with this swap ...
- what clutch and flywheel can I run with this combo
- what axles and do I need to swap out the hubs as well, if I use the RSX 6spd

thanx for your advice...

You can use any trans ep3, civic si, k20a2 trans. Just buy a complete swap. The ecu will have to have somethings done to it. You can either run a type r ecu. Or send of the stock ecu to get kpro'd. The axles you can run stock type s axles with b series outers.

-What if I use the 6spd tranny from a Civic SI what does that entail ???

-And from what I was looking at the k20's are drive by wire??? Or is there a specific year I have to find ...

-Are K20's smoggable here in California... Like I can take it to a California Air Research Board and have a new vin put on my vehicle ???

I swapped an K24A2 into my EG9. Used a Civic si 5spd from an 04. Bought the correct axles. Headers with test pipe. Passed emissions with room to spare. I was kinda' worried about passing emissions. The TSX motor burns very clean. I live in an area that is almost as tough as California smog standards

wow a test pipe ?!?! that definitly wont pass here, especially with CARB ... If they saw that they would just impound your car...

I heard you can make it pass smog but not CARB just as long everything looks stock in the car... But I'm thinking the Hondata isnt legal but all it is a modified factory ecu, correct ??? so the OBDII wiring should be able to work ...

Thanx for the answer...

I want the 6spd after thinking about it... It would do great on gas mileage since I live 60 to 80 miles away from work...

Is there anything special I have to do to make this swap work with the 6spd ???
