Just got the B20 im my 99si. Questions
Hey guys just got the car back Runs strong. Tomorrow it goes to srd for a fuel regulator. Thats the news as of yet.
Specs:
B20b Block
Arp Hardware
B16a2 Head
Act Clutch
Questions/ Concerns.
As i was driving home from the shop the motor seems to climb in RPS real quick is that normal? or could be tach just be off really bad. It was hard for me to tell this because what it vtecs its really flat and kinda week so i wasnt sure if my stock tach is off or if the regulator is going to fix the flatness. Also after i get the fuel regulator im going to see about getting it dyno tuned. If anyone can give me any suggestions or commments id appreciate it. Ill update you guys on how it drives when i come home from work tonight.
Also the ACT clutch put in is sweet, grabs really harsh, stalled it pulling out of Classic. LOL and peeled the tired probably at every stop light/ stop sign.

i find that my RPM's also climb rapidly. you are talking about the lower RPM's right? like 1500-3500?? I think its because we are used to less low-end torque. I am used to B18C1 low-end, and you are used to B16a2 low-end. Both of us are running motors in lighter cars than the motors were designed for. so the motors can rev up the our lighter cars quicker and easier.

i wouldn't worry about it until its tuned. I bet the motor is running on the lean side in high rpms, and that's why it falls off. get your fuel and ignition maps right first.
What's with the double post? (see eg+ del sol)

bump any other b20 guys here. What did you guys to do make it run right? It runs strong just sluggish, seems to not bee getting enough fuel. Am i going to have to change the ecu or is the fuel regulator guage going to do it? I have an appointment to get the fuel guage done tomorrow morning, the shop says this fixes that just want to see what everyones done. or would do.
Update: idles at about 250rpm LOW
hit flat spot at about 3k-3.5k rpms
