Default just finished h22 in eg, but.....

the car is a 92 hatch with a jdm h22a it starts and and runs fine but got some questions, first do you have to do anything with the secondaries on the right hand side of the intake manifold and how do you do it, next is that it is hitting rev limiter at 6500rpms, and last is what do you do with the two little hoses down by the speed sensor.......just trying to get all the bugs worked out, thanks

the 2 hoses on the speed sensor are power stearing hoeses. dont do nothing with them they are useless since your hatch has no p/s. link them together with a hose

Ok, what harness did you use to put the H22A in? And what year H22?

With the rev limiter being at 6500 RPM's, what codes are you running?

The two little hoses by the speed sensor is for traction control I believe. But you can bypass though.

As for the speed not working, that is the reason why VTEC is not working and the rev limiter being at 6500 RPM's. Check ALL fuses, makes the speed sensor is plugged in and not broken. Check codes as well.

i used a 94 si harness in my 92 vx and it is a 95 jdm h22a the codes that were coming on were (speed sensor, o2 sensor, o2 sensor heater, knock sensor, egr) checked all fuses and vtec does pop but not really any power change...

Ok, using a 92 Si harness into a VX, you will need to change 1 wire on the shock tower harness. It's the WHT wire going to D14.

There is a 4th plug on the VX harness and is used for EGR wiring, and part of the 5 wire O2 sensor wiring.

With this plug eliminiated, you can use the ORG/BLU going to D14 and add a pin to the shock tower harness on the top, whre the WHT wire on the Si engine harness meets up. This will complete the connection.

As for O2 sensor heater, make sure it's good and plugged in.

Knock sensor, makes sure it's not broken, and also make sure it's wired up to D3 pinout.

Keep us posted.

the VX only has a one wire o2 correct? then you will need to add the 3 additional wires for the o2.. the ECU requires them or else you will always get a code.

the secodaries you can just leave open.. or you can wire them in correctly by taking the yell/blk wire and plugging to a +12v and running the pink wire to the ECU (A17).

the two little hoses on the VSS are for power steering(which is not needed) so just cap them off. HTH... you sure you have the right plug in the VSS?

maybe this can help(for the IAB the chart says ground but that only applies to OBD2)

thanks for the info.... i am sure i have the right plug in to the vss and it worked before the swap another thing is i wired every thing so now i am only getting code vss and o2 sensor, but do you think that is why it is hitting rev limiter at 6500 rpms the ecu is a p13..........it does go into vtec but doesn't seem to have a whole lot of power mostly low end power i cant even spin the tires when pushing on it in first and i have 13in. vx wheels.........again thanks alot

Okay without the VSS hoooked up right you are not getting into Vtec. What you are most probably feeling is when you secondaries open up @ 4k RPM. Trust me when Vtec kicks you will know it. Check your wires going to the VSS and make sure none of them is loose or frayed. Also check the VSS itself and make sure it didnt come off the tranny housing. Its only held on by one bolt so they have been known to come loose from time to time.. Let me know if your odometer is working too??

And o2 although it is a soft code will still put your car in limp mode. Vtec will kick in but the car will not have all its power and run rich to compensate for the ECU's guessing.. Fix that as well when you can.

You will not need to touch the white wire, just match up the Org/Blu wire on the 4th connector, and put that where the WHT wire goes so there is a complete connection to the D14 pinout.

Whoa fastwanabe, blowin up the diagram now huh?

I need to re-do that diagram

It's not engaging VTEC because the speedo is not working.

here are pinouts for the ESS:

The Yel/Blu wire from the ESS goes to the B10 pinout. The ground goes to the thermostat ground I believe, and I am not sure what the third wire is, but I believe it's a yel/blk wire. which leads to the power junction going to A25 pinout.

lol, dude the odometer isn't working because the speedo is not working. things fall into place when things don't work.

Like I said if the wiring looks fine then check the actual sensor itself. If it is moving then it probably came lose. There is a little gold gear that goes in their as well that reads of the tranny then converts it so that your tach, odometer, and computer can read it. If that is broken that as well will cause VSS code. Check out those things..
