i HAVE the JG Edelbrock...the plenum is F'in HUGE. A lot bigger than the Type R. The JG makes 11.4 HP peak over stock GSR and is "optimized" for 7K and up, but you still don't lose much if any HP or torque on the low end. I didn't notice any loss on the bottom, but i did notice a really large gain at the top. Right now though, JG only has the GSR manifold in production. You'll have to wait for a B16 or LS. And i know the Type R doesn't fit the GSR head. IMO, i'd go with the JG. I got mine for $450. Hope that helps.

he's right- the type R head does not have the same bolt pattern, BUT the Skunk 2 intake is the same as the type R, with the correct bolt pattern. It's not as free flowing, but still better than the stock GSR dual runner deal, plus I think it's $250-$275

If I'm not mistaken they just did a dyno test on the JG intake manifold in the newest Turbo Mag. Pretty impressive numbers over the stock manifold

in order to get awesome #'s there would have to be some porting and polishing, right? is there still a great increase by just bolting it onto a nonported and nonpolished head. also, it would be best to use a bigger aftermarket throttle body too, right? it would seem to me that it would be a waste of money to put just an aftermarket intake on a stock head with stock tb, am i mistaken?

i meant porting and polishing of the head to match the size of the jg runners. otherwise, the head would be holding back the potential of the intake, right?
