Default JDM Vtec Solenoid on P73 OBD2A ?

I moved up here from the south where we don't even know what emissions means. Now that I'm in the great state of Indiana, I have to conform.

I have a 2000 JDM B18C in my 96 civic dx, it's currently running like a champ on the JDM P73. I have the USDM P73 OBD2A ECU I'm going to use. The JDM Vtec solenoid doesn't have the Vtec oil pressure switch, so I'm planning on bypassing it. I've found dozens of articles about bypassing the switch for an OBD1 ECU, but nothing for bypassing it on the OBD2A ECU.
I would like to avoid swapping the solenoid for a USDM version.
Does anyone have experience with wiring the JDM Vtec solenoid on the USDM P73?

Thanks,
Justin

Why not drill and tap the VTP boss and install a pressure switch... wire it up like a USDM car and you are fine. It is not necessary to swap the entire assembly.

Just for confirmation purposes:

Thanks to the lovely Katman, just tap the pressure switch wire to the solenoid wire at the ecu and make sure you have your ground wired, and that's it.

Thanks for the help Katman. I'm sure this is an old trick to a billion people, but it was new to me!
