jdm type R into american GS-R

jdm type R into american GS-R
i have a jdm type R on the way from total jdm that i want to put into my 98 gsr. is it a direct bolt in with my gsr wiring harness? anything specific that will be different?

Yes the jdm type r motor will bolt right in to your engine bay with out any modifications. The only thing you may have to change is if you have an aem intake you wont be able to use it anymore because of the intake manifold's are different. Also depending on how many miles are on the jdm motor you might want to change the timing belt, spark plugs, and do a valve adjustment.
You may not have this problem but after I had finished installing my motor the tach would reset or read 0 rpm after I hit 6k rpm ( I used my vafc to monitor my rpm correctly). To fix this problem I just used the distributor from my gsr motor.
