JDM H23A VTEC , better fit with T2T4 in accord..?
I am on this delinmna and hopefully someone can share if you have the same setup...
i came across two fabulous engien for my swap. jdm h23a vtec from the accord wagon and the SIR f20b motor.
This is gonna be for the daily drive for my acccord, h23a vtec has more torque. My favourite...
F20B is high reving badass...i love it too...
so ... what makes better fit for my accord?
especially with the lsd tranny t2t4 from accord. But if i ran H23a vtec I would have to run P28...
which chipping/socket place has the map for my h23a vtec??
i plan to run it stock first.
thanks for inputs..

Nobody has the JDM H23A fuel maps. I already tried that. I ended up just getting a P28 with an H22A program and VAFC to compensate

I have a used vafc2 laying around!~
do you mind tell me more about your vafc seeting!!??
Are you using base jdm h22a map to work with it?
today we also took out the secondary butterfly... (IAB) so i guess i would need to disable the IAB too ...
is this h23a unit powerful at all?
how is it compares to h22a?

I am using a base JDM H22A map. If by "H23A unit" you mean an H23A ECU, it wouldn't do you any good. The H23A only came from the factory with automatic transmissions.

i see, i guess i will be running jdm h22a map too.
today i bypass the coolant on the throttle body and find out that we have the exactly same size of throttle body as k20a type R.
Something lik 68mm.
Left is jdm h23a vtec, right is k20a type r.

That's interesting...because the throttle body on my H23A was the same size as a stock H22A throttle body.

EDIT---> I still have my old H23A throttle body in my basement (it's bare). I switched it out, as well as the upper plenum of the intake manifold, with that of a stock H22A, to make the swap into my 1992 CX go easier. The JDM H23A and all stock H22A's have the same size throttle body...and it's not 68mm.

It's 65mm. I just measured it.
blanktape...you have to measure from the inside lips

good info guys, i did not expect that much of turn out here!
another thing i found out is why on the jdm h23a vtec block I have to use the bigger oil filter (same size as NSX) instead of regular oil filter like those on D, B, K series.
And I just find out the filter cost like 20 bucks...
ouch!

Damn bro! What kind of JDM H23A do you have? Mine uses the standard Honda filter!

mine too. and you know, the nsx/s2k oil filter is teh same base, just a bigger filter. compare the orings. they're the same.
plus, you should be using a high quality filter like a K&N. p/n 1004. only like $10.

Re: JDM H23A VTEC , better fit with T2T4 in accord..? (blanktape)
bring this topic from the dead.
well, the throttle body on h23a vtec is sure bigger.
while i was doing the swap, i encouter the problem of iac.
anyway, i have this h22a TB to make it work so I compare it to h23a vtec throttle body.
i notice few things
1. h22a is smaller
2. h23a vtec does not have fast idle valve, one piece design with coolant holes.
3. h23a vtec has map sensor mounted on the throttle body.
for some reason, i cant use this throttle body i guess the top piece of manifold is smaller causing vacum leak or something, i might able to make it work once i look into more.

Check where the fast idle vavle is. Some times you go from non-FIV to a FIV, it has a small lip that hungs over and cause a vacuum leak.

jdm h23a vtec TB works, by adjusting the tb plate and it idles fine now. Even though there is no idle screw pretty much like S2000 TB but comes with vacum plug.
there is no Fast idle vale on jdm h23a vtec TB.

expletive the JDM H23A throttle body. It's the same as any H22A. I swapped my upper plenum to make it easier. Anyone want a bare H23A throttle body?

NO it is not the same and obvioulsy you do not know what you are saying.
JDM H23A VTEC TB IS BIGGER, NO FITV, NO IDLE SCREW!
Almost identical to the s2000 TB.
i am not trying to create a debate here but these are facts.
