jdm h22a swap in 97 accord, no spark, any suggestions?
Just finish putting a jdm h22a from a 93' lude front clip into my friends 97 Accord EX. The engine is not wanting to start, turns over and all that but will not fire. I checked fuel pressure and thats fine and im def getting fuel into the cylinders, but i have no spark. Ive check pretty much all of the wiring and its ok, the obd2 to obd1 ecu wiring is good, the wiring for the distrubtor and all the sensors(Crank, TDC, and cyl. position)inside the dizzy are good. Also checked the wiring for the throttle position sensor and map sensor and it look right. What else could be keeping the car from getting spark? Spark plug and wires are good, the engine ran when it was in the front clip with carb cleaner. Any suggestions or help would be great. Trying to get this damn car outa my garage.

i swapped a h23 into my cd5 4 door. we didn't have spark at first as well. the obvious things to check is wiring and fuses. also as part of basics in a motor swap, check all grounds. a tricky thing in swapping h series motors into the accord is the distributor. the h series distributor has an external coil, where the accord does not, which we forgot to supply power to from the f series harness. the car would crank but wouldn't start, no spark. this problem is easily overlooked, as soon as this was realized, car started and was out of the garage.
let me know how it goes

U shouldn't have to switch coils, no need to. I'm running the stock internal coil on my h22a. Although it could be the coil or the igniter that's causeing u to not have spark, if u have a friend with a honda see if he'll let u use his coil and igniter to test in ur car and see if that's the problem. And yeah also check all ur grounds real good.
