JDM H22A stock header vs. cheaper aftermarket brands
I was thinking about getting an aftermarket H22A header for my car but I am not sure about the gains difference between the stock JDM H22A header and some of the cheaper nicer looking aftermarket ones (less than $150)...
What do you guys think? Should I just keep the stock header and heat wrap it or get an aftermarket one (no more than $150)?

With my experience I ran a top half OBX header and I made a custom downpipe 2 into 1 2" runners into 2.5" collector we saw nice #'s. At the time H22 crx, 93 obd1 jdm h22a engine, PNP head by us, lil mill of the head and SS valves, and stock cams and valve springs, intake/header/2.5" exhaust. Spoon ebay p13 ecu. We believe there was more to be had on the engine we only spent about 20 min dialing it in...we were running pretty rich across the board Air/Fuel 10's 3k rpm up...dialing that it I assume give us atleast 190 whp that day...
184 whp and 158 ft lbs of torque at a low of 3200 rpm...
The dyno we went to is known for being very conservative as some K series engines came out of there with bolt ons and a re amped ecu making = or less power...

Thanks for the input - I guess that proves not all cheaper afermarket headers are crap... so personally do you think I get one of those aftermarket header/downpipe in place of my stock JDM H22 header & downpipe?

Re: (pcguy760)
You would need to get a custom downpipe like I made to make decent power.
I will say this building headers is hard to do...and making them perform good as well as looking good is a skilled art...Companies such as SMSP and RMF have a true skill and have a lot of dyno time in there products which the end result is you WILL make power...they cost a lil bit but in the end it's definitily a worthy investment and they hold there value good too...

do you have numbers from before and after changing only the header?
