hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank it for about 5 seconds at a time.
It took my engine (literally) 30 minutes to finally crank fully over.

checked spark by taking out wires and using old plug then set it by the mount and cranked. saw spark, got firing order from icelord webpage and its correct.

well you would figure it wouldn't keep it from starting however I do remember a post a while back about someones H22 not starting because the knock sensor was not hooked up...... very strange.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jinxster »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">will the knock sensor cause the motor not to start?</TD></TR></TABLE>

CEL go off after 2 seconds with the key in the ON position?
do you have good gas?
keep us posted.

Brandon he's prolly in the same situation I was in when I IMed you saying it wouldn't start and was all frantic. haha
I don't think people realize that it can LITERALLY take 30 minutes of cranking to get an engine to start over fully if it's been sitting a long time. Heck I drained my battery and had to switch to a different one to get mine going

yeah, me too, all the swap and motors that i have built start after at least 5 cranks (well the ones that did not have a problem like a coil or something).

yeah sometimes you do need to just crank for a while longer.
but did, you crank the motor over to build up oil pressuer first? and then forget to hook the dis back up? (yes i saw this happen to a friend)
recheck your grounds, i know you said thier there, but check again.
and do you have good spark, or just enough to see??? it all helps

Re: jdm h22a doesnt start....? (cccya)
Check your MAP sensor. If that's not connected, the car will not start. Mine didn't start on the first 5 tries.. then.. i plugged in the map. haha fired right up, first crank then. make sure the MAP and TPS plugs (I'm pretty sure it's the TPS, could be IACV) are not reversed too.. They are the same plug in the same area of the engine. Keep us posted.
