Default JDM D15B into 1987 CRX Si?

The original D15A3 decided to die on me in my 1987 Honda CRX Si. I was just wondering if the JDM D15B swap is do-able. I have heard tha you can just bolt in the long block using the D15A3 mounts, using an OBD-0 (Pre OBD) to OBD-1 harness, p28 ECU and then wiring up VTEC. Does this sound right? Has anone else had experience swapping in another SOHC motor into an 84-87 Civic/CRX w/ fuel injection? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Call HASport or visit their site at http://www.hasport.com - they offer the ZDYNE ECU and conversion harness.

The shop I work at just did a B16A into a 1986 Si CR-X and it hauls some ***!

We're using the HASport converted harness, mount kit (probably not needed for the D15B VTEC) and ZDYNE ECU and we've had zero problems thus far - no CELs, stumbling, etc.

I think the trannies might pose a problem too. I don't know if the Si tranny will bolt up to the D15B VTEC motor.

I asked similiar Q's about a 1987 Si hatchback/CR-X a while back in the EF forum and got some help.

I'll see if I can dig up a link or two for you.

The Si tranny should bolt up to the D15B VTEC motor just fine. ZDYNE makes some bad *** **** for earlier Honda models.

Unless you have the full harness, you're going to be doing a lot of wiring like MFPI, VTEC and such. Won't be too difficult, though.
