JDM B18c swap into 92' Si????????
ALright i know ya'll are probably fed up with this question.. but i tried searching and came up with nothing useful.... So here goes my questions.
I own a 92 Si... and i just got a jdm b18c...
so from what i gathered from friends is that i can use my harness from my SOHC.. but all i have to do is wire up the knock sensor... but someone also told me that i have to wire up the "secondary Vtec"?????
1) is that true?
2)and also would i be better off using a USDM ecu or the jdm one that i have???

Re: JDM B18c swap into 92' Si???????? (spooncivic28)
yes you can use your sohc harness, then 1 wire for your knock sensor, and wire the secondaries, there is no secondary vtec, so if thats what your searching for you wont find it, try typing wiring iabs into the search and dont forget to hit the archived button good luck with your swap

Re: JDM B18c swap into 92' Si???????? (EGDC2CIVIC)
use your stock harness and chip your p28. the p28 does not use the knock sensor reading anyway so no wiring needed. as far as iabs thats up to you weather you hook them up or not. good luck!

Re: JDM B18c swap into 92' Si???????? (fastlx-i)
well thanks for the tips...
i just finished puting in the motor and i used my stock harness and i put in the JDM ecu... it doesn't feel all that quick but it's better than before..
but i am running into some problems..
the check engine light is coming on and when i plug in my friends honda scan tool it says "IAC failure"
could it be that i didn't wire it up correctly or the valve is broken?
when i took it off of the manifold, the valve was pushed all the way to the left.. is it stuck??? i tried cleaning it and cleared the DTC but it keeps coming back on...
one more question is this DTC keeping me from running full potential???
